Dawn mist over an emerald fairway beneath century old rain trees at Royal Colombo

Two championship courses, one royal crest, golf in the heart of Colombo.

Galle Face Green, c. 1900

Golf came to Ceylon in 1879, on the sea wind of Galle Face Green. A king lent us his crown in 1928. Everything since, every dawn four ball, every name on the Guv'nors' boards, has been a promise kept.

Our history

A season of silver,
trophies older than nations

  1. The Burdett Trophy

Now in its 123rd playing, older than the amateur game in most of the world.

  2. Club Championships

The blue riband: a qualifying medal in August, then match play to the wire.

  3. South West Monsoon Meet

Four rounds played through the rains, with Dialog. Golf that does not wait for weather.

  4. Pin & Pam Fernando Trophy

July's rite: strokeplay qualifying into head to head match play.

  5. The Havelock Trophy

One Sunday, one field, a name carried since the colonial greens.

  6. The Monthly Medals

VISA to Commercial Bank: a medal every month, a card that always counts.

“Together, let us shape a Royal Colombo Golf Club that honours its past, and defines excellence.”

Mahela Jayawardena, Captain, 2026 / 27
